Triton Academy, the accredited training division of Triton Express, is building a Talent Pool for future 12-month National Certificate: Freight Handling (Occupational Certificate: Freight Handler) learnership opportunities.

This programme is designed to equip unemployed South African youth with practical workplace experience and nationally recognised qualifications in the logistics and freight handling industry. Successful learners will receive a monthly stipend of R4,000 while completing both classroom-based training and workplace learning.

What You'll Be Doing

During the learnership, participants will receive practical workplace training in freight handling, including:

• Loading and off-loading goods from vehicles.
• Preparing vehicles for trips.
• Receiving, dispatching and processing freight documentation.
• Performing warehouse and transport-related duties.
• Delivering and collecting goods.
• Picking and packing stock accurately.
• Receiving and verifying incoming stock.
• Stacking and securing goods safely for transportation.
• Maintaining clean and organised work areas.

Learning & Development

Learners will also receive:

• Structured classroom training aligned with national unit standards.
• Practical workplace experience.
• Mentorship from experienced professionals.
• Assessment preparation for external verification.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this learnership, applicants must:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Have Grade 12, TVET N3 or an NQF Level 2 qualification.
• Have achieved at least 40% in Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy and English.
• Be between 23 and 35 years old.
• Be medically fit.
• Be able to read and write English.
• Be numerically orientated.
• Be willing to work weekends and shifts.
• Have a clear criminal record.
• Reside in Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, Johannesburg, Tembisa, Alexandra, Katlehong or surrounding areas.
